Allergic asthma

Xolair treatment should only be considered in patients with established IgE (immunoglobulin E)-mediated asthma.

Adults and children 12 years of age and older

Xolair is indicated as adjunctive therapy to achieve better asthma control in patients with severe persistent allergic asthma in whom the result of skin in vitro test or airborne allergen reactivity test positive, who have impaired lung function (FEV₁ (forced expiratory volume) < 80%), as well as frequent daytime symptoms or frequent nighttime awakenings and who have documented multiple severe asthma exacerbations despite using high daily doses of inhaled corticosteroids with the addition of inhaled long-acting beta₂-agonists.

Children aged 6 to 12 years

Xolair is indicated as adjunctive therapy to achieve better asthma control in patients with severe persistent allergic asthma who have a positive skin test or testin vitro on reactivity to an allergen constantly present in the air, as well as frequent manifestations of symptoms during the day or awakening at night and who have documented evidence of multiple severe asthma exacerbations, despite the use of high daily doses of inhaled corticosteroids with the addition of inhaled beta₂-agonists.

Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRPS)

Xolair is indicated as adjunctive therapy together with intranasal corticosteroids (ICS) for the treatment of adults (age 18 years and older) with severe CRS, in whom ICS therapy does not provide adequate disease control.

Chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU), dosage 150 mg
