Indications for use
Azacitidine (subcutaneous or intravenous) is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with the following subtypes of French-American-British (FAB) myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS): refractory anemia (RA) or refractory anemia with ring sideroblasts (RAS) (in the presence of neutropenia or thrombocytopenia or the need for blood transfusion), refractory anemia with excess blasts (RAEB), refractory anemia with excess blasts in transformation (RAEB-T) and chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML).
