Noxafil drug^®  is prescribed for the treatment of the following fungal infections in adults:

• invasive aspergillosis in patients with resistance to amphotericin B or itraconazole or in patients with intolerance to these drugs;
• fusariosis in patients with resistance to amphotericin B or in patients with intolerance to amphotericin B;
• chromoblastomycosis and mycetoma in patients with resistance to itraconazole or in patients with intolerance to itraconazole;
• coccidioidomycosis in patients with resistance to amphotericin B, itraconazole or fluconazole or in patients with intolerance to these drugs;
• oropharyngeal candidiasis: as first-line therapy in immunocompromised patients, with possible low efficacy of topical agents.

Resistance is defined as progression of infection or lack of improvement after at least 7 days prior to effective antifungal therapy.

Noxafil drug^® indicated for the prevention of invasive fungal infections in the following patients:

• patients receiving chemotherapy to induce remission in the treatment of acute myelogenous leukemia or myelodysplastic syndrome, which can lead to prolonged neutropenia, and who are at high risk of developing invasive fungal infections infections;
• recipients of hematopoietic stem cell transplants who receive high doses of immunosuppressants to prevent a graft-versus-host reaction and who are at high risk of developing invasive fungal infections.

Noxafil drug^® prescribed for the prevention of invasive fungal infections caused by yeast or mold fungi in adults and children aged 13 years who have an increased risk of developing such infections (for example, patients with prolonged neutropenia or recipients of hematopoietic stem cell transplants).
